Meditation

Making time for meditation is one of those things we think we’ll get around to. I’ve been meditating for many years and I swear by it. Honestly, it didn’t come easy but I knew so many people I admired who used this practise every day.

It took years for me to actually ‘get it’. I now meditate twice a day for around 20 minutes each. There are days when I don’t and I can definitely feel the difference. Some times are just too distracting although it’s great if you can just find a quiet space to sit and be. Outdoors in nature is the best place.

For me, taking this time to ‘not think’ actually makes my thinking clearer and much more productive. It also helps me to focus and be more in the moment.

I started with a guided meditation and I fully recommend this way until you get the hang of it. And it’s not something you need to be perfect at, just keep practising … it’s a beautiful thing to be peaceful.

A lovely way to remember is to wear something special everyday. Here are some beach inspired jewellery pieces: Beach Jewellery

The goal of  meditation isn’t to control your thoughts, it’s to stop letting them control you.
